Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority

The Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority (SRPRA) has taken the next big step toward restoring intercity passenger rail service between Reading and Philadelphia by submitting an application for the Federal Railroad Administration's Corridor Identification and Development Program (CIDP).

The Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority (SRPRA) voted unanimously at its meeting on October 24, 2022, to approve an agreement with Smart Growth America through their Transportation for America (T4A) Program.

Members of the Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority (SRPRA) voted unanimously yesterday to appoint Thomas E. Frawley, P.E. Esq, as Interim Executive Director for the SRPRA, effectively immediately.

Following its first meeting, the Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority (SRPRA) has submitted a letter of intent to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to restore passenger rail from Reading to Philadelphia.

Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline approved today the creation of the Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority, completing the approval last week of the Authority by the Commissioners from Berks and Montgomery Counties.

Today the Montgomery County Commissioners took another important step to restore passenger rail service between Reading and Philadelphia in partnership with Berks and Chester counties.
