SRPRA Executive Director Thomas Frawley joined Berks County Commissioner Michael Rivera and Berks County Planning Commission Executive Director David N. Hunter, Sr., in testifying before the Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee on the restoration of passenger rail service between Philadelphia and Reading.
“This is, to my knowledge, the first time this House Committee has held a hearing in Reading at City Hall,” said Hunter. He also noted, “Committee Majority Chair Ed Neilson was very gracious.”
State Secretary of Transportation Mike Carroll and Deputy Secretary for Multimodal Transportation Meredith Biggica were present, along with State Representatives Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz and Manny Guzman.
“We’re planning and preparing for everyone to ride the rails to Reading!” concluded an optimistic Hunter.
