Thank you to everyone who attended our recent board meeting at the Franklin Street Station in Reading (both in-person or via zoom). We are humbled by the community interest and support in this project. While progress is being made, there is still much to do to restore passenger rail between Reading and Philadelphia. We are excited for the future.
One highlight of the meeting was an update from the Federal Railroad Administration on the SRPRA’s progress through the Corridor Identification and Development Program (CIDP). Key presentations were delivered by Barbara Moreno (Federal Railroad Administration), Joe Barr (Amtrak), Aaron Gantz (Greater Reading Chamber Alliance), and Jack Gombach (City of Reading), each offering insights into the rail project’s next steps and anticipated impact.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Brian O’Leary for his time and dedication while on the Authority. He will be missed on the SRPRA team, but we wish him the very best in his retirement.
